7 Days Phnom Penh / Siem Reap Tour (Phnom Penh)

Itinerary:
DAY 1 - Phnom Penh (L/D)
Transfer from Phnom Penh Pochentong airport to the Hotel. Lunch at Hotel. Afternoon, visit the National Museum of Arts, also called Musee des Beaux-Arts. The museum contains a collection of Khmer art ¡V notably sculptures ¡V throughout the ages. Most of the exhibits date from the Angkor period but there are several examples from the pre-Angkor ear as well. Visit the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, so named because the floor is covered with over 5,000 silver tiles weighing 1 kg each. It is also known as Wat Preah Keo. Then, transfer to Wat Phnom, from where you can enjoy views over the tree-lined avenues of Phnom Penh until sunset. Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.

DAY 2 - Phnom Penh / Siem Reap (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Phnom Penh¡¦s Pochentong airport for departure to Siem Reap. Arrival in Siem Reap Airport, welcome by your local guide and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Roluos Group. The monuments of Roluos, which served as the capital of Indravarman I. See the temples of Preah Ko, Bakong and Lolei. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, you will continue your temple visits. Included are Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang, Banteay Kdei. Then, visit Eastern Mebon and the ¡§ Mountain Temple ¡¨ of Pre Rup until sunset. Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.

DAY 3 - Siem Reap (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom. See the South Gate, Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at hotel. In the afternoon visit the most famous of all the temples on the Angkor plain: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and it comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Sunset from Phnom Bakheng, one of two hills dominating the plain of Angkor, from where you will have a spectacular view of the Western Baray and Angkor Wat. Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at hotel.

DAY 4 - Siem Reap (B/L/D)
Breakfast at hotel. In the morning, you will continue your temple visits. Included are Neak Pean, a fMorning, transfer to Banteay Srei temple, regarded as the jewel in the crown of Classical Khmer Art. Visit Banteay Srei then continue to Banteay Samre, built in the third quarter of the 12th century. Return to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 km south of Siem Reap. Visit the village and take a ride in a tradional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap, the ¡§ great lake ¡¨ of Cambodia and the largest in Asia. Continue your visit to ¡§ Les Artisans d¡¦Angkor ¡V Chantiers Ecoles ¡¨ and a local market.

Option 2 ¡V Siem Reap fly to Phnom Penh
Transfer to Siem Reap airport. Departure to Phnom Penh. Arrive in Phnom Penh, welcome by your local guide and transfer to the hotel. Dinner and accommodation at hotel.

DAY 5
Option 1 ¡V Siem Reap ¡V Departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Siem Reap airport for departure to the next destination.
Option 2 ¡V Phnom Penh ¡V Departure (B)
Breakfast at hotel. Morning, drive to the ¡§ Killing Fields ¡¨ of Choeng Ek. Between 1975 and 1978 about 17,000 men, women, children and infants were detained and tortured at the S-21 prison and transported to the extermination camp of Choeung Ek. Then, return to Phnom Penh and visit the notorious Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot¡¦s security forces. Transfer to Phnom Penh¡¦s Pochentong airport for departure to the next destination.
